Overall this book is very good. It has a number of different locations throughout the tri-state area, along with directions and routes for some of the most popular bouldering problems at many locations. The content is almost identical to Classic Rock Climbs No. 5: New Jersey Crags, so do not buy both. Also on occasion the directions are a little vague and reference directions from fallen tree's etc. which may have changed. Essential for any bouldering or rock climbing enthusiast in New Jersey, but should be supplemented with a little word of mouth knowledge and some exploring of various areas. Overall, recommended!
Great construction with rounded open exposed corners. Somewhat detailed but not enough for each climb area. Leaves out the main part of Passaic county which has prime climbing cliff faces and huge freestanding boulders. I know of these areas as I hike and climb many trails and this is my main 'playground'. There are so many high peaks of 1,200+ to 1,400+ clustered in this section of NJ. Too much is made of Sourland area because it is a populous area. The A.T. ridge in Warren county rivals many areas in other states and is covered fairly well in the book.
