Its an FAA/ASA publication and very affordable. I'm not technician by trade, I'm an office manager and an electronics enthusiast. I bought this book because I had a 15 hour flight overseas and to ease the transition of time change needed light reading material to stay awake. This book ended up being the second best of three I carried on board. (the best being Jeppesen Transport Category Aircraft Systems, and the other being Weiner's Human Factors in Aviation). The detailed drawings made comprehension a breeze and the info on how the characteristics of air changes with temperature, anti-ice, etc, really gets me thinking. There's something about sitting so close to the port side GE90 on the last flight while reading about its guts that made it memorable. Am I now eligible for the exam? I think not. I may have to retake college physics.
As I reviewed for volume one and two of the airframe handbook, these books are great for studying for the A&P exams. All of them are well illustrated with color pictures and great information. I purchased the three books in this series and the Advisory circular AC43.13 . Now I am well prepared for the exams. The great thing about these books is that they are put out by the FAA so all the questions will come from these books and they are VERY reasonably priced
Just got it today and started reading it. Shipped fast. It is packed full of information. I am studying composites and aviation maintenance. I only wish the font was larger and that it had colored photos.

Very informative and i can see why some ppl may choose this ove the Jeppesen. I do actually like how both edition are in this one book and not split in two.
