I ordered the three books: Inspiration, Flowers and Abstract and I love all three. I wanted to try something different from the pattern coloring books I usually work with. I wanted to try larger images where I could work more with shading and blending colors. I read Zenspiration as Zen Inspiration and it's the Zen feel of all three books that I love. I never even thought of Zentangle. The flower book is a great day to bask in the feeling of Spring, (especially on a rainy day) after the harsh Winter we had. There is a lot of area on each page to add to the design if you wish. I like the suggestions on the inside covers. The back inside cover has examples of some of the illustrations colored in. For some reason they inspire me more than the plain pages; Seeing her color choices help me think of my own. I am a colorist not a drawing person and I use my coloring books for mental relaxation. Coloring the flowers in this book does for my mind what a warm soak in the tub would for my body.

The title leads you to think that this is a very zentangle oriented book, but I don't think it is quite as Zentangle as you may expect. That being said, it is, as usual, filled with lovely illustrations by Joanne Fink who has a delightful style of her own. If you are into the garden ZIAs, you will find a lot of inspiration, but this is not a Zentangle instruction book. I use it more for inspiration than for colouring in. Not too expensive, so I think you will find something to make your purchase worthwhile. It is a nice little book.

Whimsical and inspiring designs fill the pages of this book. The layout is well done, single sided pages are perfect for bleed through. but I would recommend laying a piece of plastic wrap under the page in case it should bleed through heavily. Fun designs for easy coloring and as always, Joanne Finks lettering is superb. I highly recommend this book.

These pages are so wonderfully thick! They're also perforated, so it is easy to hang your art up on the wall. There's a lot of space within each petal and leaf to put your own individual twist on things and do shading and patterns. This is a super soothing adult coloring book

I loveeeeeeee this book to death!! It's a fairly thin book with only 20-30 coloring pages inside but they're all absolutely fantastic. I colored almost all of them within 3 days. Will definitely buy more Zenspirations books!!

I am a Joanne Fink fan so I buy all of her books. I don't color in many of the books I buy but rather use them more for ideas and inspiration. I love her style.

Great instruction and full of great ideas.

Fun book to color in for adults like me who still enjoy coloring. I use copic markers but they bled through so watch that you don't ruin the next page. Cute patterns of flowers to color.

I originally read this novel nearly a decade ago, and its one of the few I like to re-read every couple of years. I loved the first book in this series "Then Came You" and honestly "Dreaming of You" was even better. I think what makes this story so different and compelling is our hero, Derek Craven, who is no lord of the realm but a force all his own and a man to be reckoned with. He grew up as a poor Cockney child, and ends up making a name for himself while building a gambling empire.Sara Fielding on the other hand is a sweet country girl and a writer. While following up on some details for her current project she comes to the aid of Derek one evening, which is how they meet. As people they are complete opposites - she sweet and simple, he hard and cunning. Sara helps heal Derek's tortured soul, get over his painful past, love and learn to be loved. This is one of those rare books that actually had be bawling and is a very poignant story of love and redemption. I have always liked Lisa Kleypas books especially her older one like " Dreaming of You" I had read this some years ago in paper back but I'm not sure why I felt like reading it again so I got it for my kindle.The Second time around was just as good I love Derek Craven his dark, broody and grouchy you just want to hug him and make him happy. He has accomplished so much coming from nothing but he just can't get past what he had to do to get there, so he feels he does not deserve anybody that he considers good and pure enter Sara who is so different from him, she is a wonderful heroine spunky, smart, caring and not judgy so she is perfect for him. I love this story I would have giving it 5 stars because it has everything it's steamy, funny in parts it's sad it makes you mad and happy but my problem is that I don't think the villain got what she deserved and that made me mad 😡.All in all it's a great book worth having in kindle and paper back!

I've read this book a couple of times throughout the past four years and I think I enjoy Derek Craven's character more each time I read the book. Of course it's fiction, but it is still inspiring to a certain degree to think that somewhere, at some point in time, an individual could rise from the mire and eventually be a success not only in business, but go forward all the way through to finding and settling down with a good woman who serves to bring him up to a much higher level than he would have / could have risen without her influence.Such is the story of Derek Craven and Sara Fielding. Not a lot can be said that hasn't been said by previous reviewers, but I will take a blurb from Lisa Kleypas' own words from her website where she explains a bit about Derek Craven's character:"Derek Craven was a minor character in 'Then Came You' and then became the hero of 'Dreaming Of You.' He has visited a few other stories, but he is more or less in retirement now. The problem with Derek is that he seems to overpower every story that he’s in. He can’t help it!..."The above says it all relative to the manner in which Derek Craven is successfully portrayed. One gets the feeling, he will stop at nothing to get what he wants and it certainly seemed to work for him considering his beginnings and his later successes. The fact he's paired with a woman who was raised in the country and was as different from night is to day when compared with ladies in London adds much interest to the storyline.One stand out moment - the day Derek is doing some drudge work, helping carry in some crates of liquor simply because he feels like doing some physical labor and he comes across Sara gathering tidbits for her book (she's been given the run of the club during the daytime by Craven's club manager). Derek has some words with Sara and suddenly removes her "spinster's cap and drops it to the floor. Oh yes, Baby! Such a sexy moment and the one in which we know it's all over for the big, independent, cockney, Derek Craven.Sara is brave, steady, but unafraid of life and what it brings to her. The fact she would ultimately feel confident enough to take on Derek Craven was somewhat explained when Derek and her father meet and have their "talk." Her father explains to Derek that Sara was born to them during the later years of their life. Knowing they might not be around due to their age, they encouraged her independence.One thing that must be mentioned. Lisa Kleypas' books are often more sexually explicit that some readers will enjoy. In fact, they are more explicit than I enjoy, but she manages to bring forth characteristics in the relationships between her H/h characters that are without parallel in this genre. At least, that's my opinion. Such is the story between Derek and Sara.

As I am on this new historical kick, this book kept coming up on all these must read list and I could have sworn I had read it when I first found Lisa's book. The cover was so familiar. I went to buy it and found I owned it already. Started reading it and it wasn't exactly anywhere stuck in my head. But slowly, small things felt like dejavu. Then, I decided to buy the audio...guess what?! Owned that too!! So today I picked up where I had left off reading and the 2nd half it all came back.Their connection, the deep soul connection. The power of the words showed Sara and Derek's feelings. When Derek finally couldn't hold back any longer and all of him was revealed he is just unimaginable. That I remember distinctly. I hadn't been a historical fan but of late I have opened up so much more. So I think reading this now or re-reading I felt so many more things than I had before

Very spiritual inspiring short stories. I love it, because I can read a whole story before I go to bed. With my schedule it may be a week before I get back to a book.

The color scheme Wangerin displays in the vividly moving and pulling book, not only draws lines to your own life but also paints the difficult and more than likely self-abasing canvas of his own wanderings and in no way applauds himself for the slight victory before the fall back into confusion that God so faithfully pulls us all out of eventually. Follow Walter through his young married life and the struggles of parenthood, into a better understanding of our Father who continually pushes us through adversity into perfection. An organic and honest read to say the least, 10/10.

Fifteen years ago I had read the first chapter of this book, then lost it. I hoped someone would find it and be as inspired as I had been. Now I have found it again and been blessed to read the whole book. Though none matches the first chapter, they all have the authors brilliant touch and profound spiritual insight. Please read it. You will be blessed.

I enjoyed the symbolism in the stories and the stories. Some of them read like stories you might find sent around on mass email lists. The stories challenge you by thinking through tough issues and encourages you to live out what you believe. The poems and stories encourage you to serve. I first heard about this through a sermon on Truth for Life and it's well worth your time to dig into this book.

Loved the short stories which captured my imagination. Easy to read but hard to get out of my mind. recommend it.

It's a hymnal. Exactly like the ones in the back of the pews at church. I purchased it for when I was taking organ lessons, but was really glad to have it around just to read. Now I have a 1940 as well! This is the standard, and although I doubt there are many knock-off hymnals out there, there's no reason to buy anything else. Plus I always thought the red one looked better than the blue one.

This marvelous hymnal has all the hymns I grew up with as a cradle Episcopalian. As a seminarian, I love the way they are arranged by uses and seasons of the liturgical year. I highly recommend it!

The binding holds up well. I purchased this edition on the recommendation of several fellow choir members and would recommend it to any other Episcopal choir singers.

Hymnal for myself at home

I needed this, as my Church live-streams for when your are out (like due to illness) and having the hymnal to sing along makes it perfect! It also has much worthwhile information to use in your home.

When I ordered these, the one that came from Wand Books was bound upside down. I think I should have been told that. I cannot give it as a gift as planned. Should have been me tioned and sold at HALF price.

I sent this one back -- it's the "pew" version, which has only a melody line for many hymns. I'm not Episcopalian, so I didn't know. I just wanted to explore yet another hymnal --I have a collection. The version with all parts is $70, which is out of my price tolerance.

My criterion for assessment is: does this match in every respect the current official hymnal of the American Episcopal Church, red binding version. It does.

As an existential, Jewish philosopher, Buber takes the seriousness of the ‘eternal Thou.’ Only through the ‘Thou’ can a person be an ‘I.’ In other words, the ‘supreme meeting’ in the pure relation of I-Thou, which demands the whole person, is a revelation that completely changes the person. However, in the aftermath, the contemptuous habit of the person is to warp the ‘Thou’ into an ‘It’–understandable, manageable, and conquerable. Buber likens this deplorable act as replacing God for an idol. So, what can be done? Buber exhorts two exercises: (1) treat the world and others as ‘Thou’ than ‘It” and (2) prayer. With a sacramental view, Buber affirms that the world and everything in it are ‘Thou’ pointing to the ‘eternal Thou.’ If we cannot treat worldly ‘Thou’ rightly, how can we possibly respect the ‘eternal Thou’? This book is a beautiful, inspired work of art by a brilliant young man. It elucidates the subjective/objective dichotomy in human experience better than anyone before or since. As Kaufman notes, Buber has impressive antecedents including Jesus, Hillel and Kant, but this work elaborates upon the aphorisms of those earlier thinkers, making their insights fresh and more complete. Beware that Buber tends to drift off into romantic, idiosyncratic gibberish at times, especially in Part 2. So, don't expect to be able to grasp everything that he says. Still, there are many profound truths in this small volume. Respecting the subjective view of each human being does not mean that ethical behavior or truth is subjective. There is a place for objectivity. But, in relating to human beings, subjectivity must be acknowledged. ".... without It, a human being cannot live. But, whoever lives with only that is not human."

Buber's I AND THOU is one of the major examples of the modernist attempt to re-define or re-imagine the spiritual dimensions of reality. Walter Kaufmann's is the standard translation of a work that he himself admits is difficult to read or to translate. Despite these difficulties, this book is central for anyone interested in modern philosophy or spirituality. Kaufmann's introduction is thoughtful and helpful.

I love Martin Buber's language in describing relationships as either "I-Thou" or "I-It". I find this very helpful when working with groups to help them understand how subtle differences can quickly change the relationship and damage communications. While the concept is simple, the nuances and subtle issues in practice are certainly not and like all good human relations, requires a great deal of study, practice and more practice. With that in mind, this translation of the poetic original I-Thou by Buber needed more for me to understand and embrace it more fully. To that end, I found Kenneth Paul Kramer's "Martin Buber's I and Thou; Practicing Living Dialogue" to be a very good companion resource.

"I and Thou" by Martin Buber is one of the most important books ever written.First published in 1923, in my opinion, it is certainly the most important book of the 20th century. This is the attitude we often take at work, and the attitude which allows us to exploit the world.When we approach someone with the attitude of I-Thou, we see him or her as the unique and existentially real person he or she really is at heart. We see that person's soul and can never treat him or her as an object in any way.This attitude is also the way we address the world when it seems magical, such as in moments when nature calls to us and we see it as part of ourselves and ourselves as a part of it.I-Thou is how we address God when our hearts and souls open to let the Infinite in, when the spirit of God touches us.In other words, I-Thou is when we are in true relation with anything, when the boundaries we set up between ourselves and the world come down.Unfortunately, since we live in a material world, there are times when we must address the world as I-It, which is where troubles begin.Buber was an Austrian-born Jewish philosopher who was a part of the Zionist movement as the editor of its central newspaper, but later became an advocate of a joint Palestinian-Jewish homeland to share what is Israel today.Since Buber wrote "I and Thou" in idiosyncratic German, with a highly poetic and metaphorical structure, there are differences in how some think it should be translated. Personally, I prefer the translation Buber worked on with Ronald Gregor Smith, because it retains its poetic and reverent tone, but the most available translation is a later translation by Walter Kaufmann. Readers may have to find used copies to find the Smith translation, as I did, get the Kindle edition or try the interlibrary loan system.Even if you've read this gem, it bears reading again. Different chapters of our lives can give it added meaning, which is why I read it every few years.Don't miss this one.
