This is the second Jade Summer coloring book that I have purchased. I really love the quality of the paper. Each page is one sided with the back of the page black. No worries of that bleeding through look ruining your coloring page. Additionally, she doesn't clutter her page with a lot of hard to color detail. I know there are a lot that really like that, but it just doesn't work well for me. It is distracting and far from calming. Sorry, got on my soapbox. I really just love that her images are beautiful and straight forward. Plus if you have a color malfunction there are at least two more that you can color. Not to mention that she includes a link to download the images free for unlimited coloring. I REALLY love that feature.Sometimes it is much easier to color on a printed image than in the books.

This is my second Chibi Girls coloring book by Jade Summer (note that this is not a duplicate of the first one of the same title). There are 25 different designs (with 2 copies of each design for a total of 50 coloring pages.) The designs are cute fantasy girls are drawn in manga style with full backgrounds. The designs are quite detailed and some contain small areas to color. The designs; however, are not what I consider intricate and difficult to color.The word chibi is a Japanese slang term for small person. The cuties in this book are small but have beautiful big eyes and lots of personality. The designs put the girls in many scenarios, including a ballerina, a witch, a steampunk girl, a Roman warrior, an Egyptian princess and much more.While you can have access to .PDFs when you purchase this book, my review is based on the book as it is received from Amazon. That way you will know what the pages look like and how they accept color. I like that the publisher provides the digital version as well so you can choose the paper you wish to use and/or to color the pictures as many times as you choose.This is what I found while coloring in this book and testing the paper with my coloring medium:25 x 2 each fun Chibi girl designs for a total of 50 coloring pagesDesigns are printed on one side of the pagePaper is typical of CreateSpace: white, thin, slightly rough and non-perforated. The back of the page is printed black.The designs do not merge into the binding. There is a heavy framing line at the outer edges of the design to give the project a more finished look, especially for framing.Glue Binding (there is room to cut the pages out if you choose to do so.)Though you cannot see the bleed-through easily due to the back of the page being printed in black, I recommend the use of a blotter page when working in this book. I use a page of card stock or several sheets of heavyweight paper under my working page. It keeps seeping ink and marring dents from ruining the pages below.Alcohol-based markers bleed through the page quickly.Water-based markers bleed through in spots.Gel pens and India ink pens leave shadows on back of the page. India ink can bleed through if you apply heavily or multiple coats.Coloring Pencils work well with this paper. I found that I could layers the same color for deeper pigment or multiple colors and I could blend easily using a blending stick. I tested both oil and wax based pencils. I also found that hard lead pencils leave dents through the paper.

I like the cute pictures of this book and the fact that you get 2 of each one. This is good if you want to share or try coloring the pictures differently. What I did not like about the book is the paper. I think I've heard it called "creative space"paper.. it's kinda of like one step up from copier paper but with a lot of tooth. I felt I had to work the pencil more than I like to. I gave 4 stars because I love the pictures and they are fun to color.

Jade Summer books are beautiful and this one is no exception. Love the artwork, just don’t like create space paper but I have finally found a pencil that colours well on it. My Prismacolor Premier pencils work beautifully on this paper and because the images are single sided you can use markers also if you wish.

I love this book. I get it for Christmas. I was surprised to find out the pages are black on the back of the pages to prevent bleeding. I was also shocked to find out it was a double book. so I get 2 of every picture. Biggest surprise of all is the fact I get a code for the PDF of the book and can print as many pages as I want. One of my best Christmas presents. I also love the pictures that came in side. I am a big anime fan and it is very hard to find well made Anime coloring books. I am so happy with my books.

I love this book it's so cute. The lines are nice and dark but the lines are not thick. The girls are so cute and sassy. The quality of the paper is good with black on the back of each page therefore doesn't show if marker has bled through. I still use a sheet of paper behind it so that it doesn't bleed on next page. This come with two copies of each page.

Love this coloring book! I love chibi's! I love that it's one sided and you get to color with pencils marker or pen! It's great having 2 of the same drawing I like coloring one chibi blonde and another rainbow hair its just fun that way.

All coloring pages except the cheerleader girl are really crisp and nice. But for some reason that one is extremely pixelated! So I took a star off. But the paper works well for layered colored pencil in my experience. (If anyone's wondering, I'm using prismacolor.) Overall a nice book though!

If you purchase from Amazon you get a free PDF so you can color your favorite picture as many times as you want. I bought this one and the Chibi animals both met with my approval. This is a great book! It really does an effective job in laying out the basic concepts of Calvinism in five simple points. In each point that is discussed in this book, it is backed up by numerous biblical examples for credibility. This is great for anyone who is a practicing Christian and desires to understand the history of Calvinism and reformed theology better. Most importantly, it lays out highly important biblical truths that simply cannot be ignored.

This is one of the clearest explanations of the five points of Calvin, but most important is the full explanation of Scriptural support of these points. Calvinism is not just another expression of so-called systematic theology, but biblical theology firmly rooted in Scripture, which is amply discussed in this book.

Main points are described thoroughly, and really only make up about 1/3 of the book. The rest of the book is packed with outstanding resources, which is the main reason to possess this book. Great study resource!

Though now over forty years old, this book remains a perfect starting point for an introduction to Calvinism. Though hardly an indepth study, authors David Steele and Curtis Thomas present exactly what the title states; THE FIVE POINTS OF CALVINISM: DEFINED, DEFENDED, DOCUMENTED. It's as simple as that.One could fill a sizable library on the various treatises defining, defending and documenting Calvinism, but for a brief and concise examination, this is the perfect starting point. Calvinism is hardly limited to five points, but is often referred as Five Point Calvinism as a result of the comparison to the five points of Arminianism at the Synod of Dort. The book is broken into three parts. Part One gives a side by side comparison of the Five Points of Arminianism in contrast to the Five Points of Calvinism, as well as a brief history of each system of thought.Part Two presents Biblical Support of the Five Points of Calvinism. Here the authors present depravity, election, atonement, efficacious grace and perseverance and each point is clearly defended with scripture. This is hardly an exhaustive Biblical study, but there is enough irrefutable evidence presented to definitively support the case for Calvinism.Up to this point, the book has introduced and supported the subject on a basic and easily discernable level, making this volume an incomparable introduction, but Part Three extends that introduction into the realm of further study. Here the authors examine previous caseworks on the study of Calvinism, which will guide the reader to verify the claims of Calvinism. The books outlined are somewhat dated, but nonetheless critical to a more seminal understanding of the subject.This all sounds like an incredible amount of work for a tiny booklet of only ninety-five pages, and it is, but this book doesn't stop there. In fact, I believe some of the most illuminating writing is to be found in the Appendix where the authors delve into an exegesis of the meaning of "foreknew" as found in Romans 8:29. The work here presents perhaps, the most substantial argument in support of Calvinism.In summary, if you are seeking a basic introduction to Calvinism, for whatever reason, I believe this is one of the finest sources available. Not the most definitive by any means, but for a brief concise narrative that will shock you with how much information is to be gleaned from such a small volume, do not pass on this book.Pastor Monty Rainey

This is a great reference on the 5-Points. Particularly the bibliography in this book will get you as far as you want to go with it!I would highly recommend this for any theologians library.

'The Five Points of Calvinism...' is an excellent introductory work on 'The Doctrines of Grace" also generally referred to as 'Calvinism'. The five points of Calvinism stand together as a system of doctrine which explains God's design on how sinners are saved. In the preface to the first edition it is noted(though often overlooked)that each point constitutes a distinct and important Biblical doctrine. The first section of the book gives a brief historical sketch of Calvinism. On pages 5-8 there is a chart contrasting 'The Five Points of Arminianism' with 'the Five Points of Calvinism'. This chart is very handy and helpful because it clearly and concisely sets forth what these two systems of doctrine are teaching. Calvinistic doctrine has so often been caricatured both in print and in public discourse as well as in many pulpits. This chart fairly and accurately summarizes both schools of thought. The historical roots of Calvinistic doctrine are traced back to the controversy between Pelagius and Augustine. The differences between Calvinism and Arminianism are not insignificant or just matters of rhetoric but rather go to the heart of the gospel. On p.13 J.I.Packer is quoted on the gravity of the issues at hand, "The difference between them is not primarily one of emphasis,but of content. One proclaims a God who saves;the other speaks of a God who enables man to save himself." The second part of the book gives some of the Biblical support for each of the five points. This section is not intended to be exhaustive but serves its purpose as an introductory work that attempts to document some of the Biblical support for 'The Five Points of Calvinism'. The third part of the book gives a list with brief commentary on books that are available for further study on each of the 'Five Points' and on the Calvinistic system of doctrine as a whole. The updated and expanded edition ,which was published in 2004, is far superior as it contains a listing of many significant books that the first edition does not include because they were not yet written. Books such as R.C.Sprouls 'Chosen by God' and Richard Belchers 'A Journey in Grace'. This modern classic is perhaps the best book that someone could read to introduce them to Calvinistic theology.

I read specifically for my personal knowledge. I am not a Calvinist. I just enjoy reading and learning. It was easy to understand and they provided a good amount of reference material.

It is interesting, intricate theology, often different strands of approach, then the author's own look at an ambiguity. What I've found built into the discussions is the lesson to each of us to let God work through us and not see ourselves as indispensable.Dr. Davis writes with charm and tells an interpretation by a Jewish exegete (p. 47) who explains the difference one letter of a word can make. Moses and Aaron prominently sinned by saying notsi' (shall we draw forth) instead of yotsi' (shall He draw forth).10-19-14 A book I'm thankful for.
