The color coded tabs for the NEC book work so good. They really help organize and make it easier to find what you are looking for. They are sturdy, sticky and have held up great. I put these in my code book and it made it easier to pass the electricians test. Besides the testing and school use for these, my code book is an everyday item I use. The tabs make it much easier to flip through. I used this to pass my 4 year electrical test, and passed with time to spare and flying colors. When a question came up, I could just grab the right tab and flip to exactly where I needed to find the answer. I will be getting a new set of these when the 2017 code book comes out because they are so awesome. I’d definitely recommend every person who carries a NEC book to buy these. You won’t waste as much time looking for your answers and codes. The colors are true and don’t fade. It also take a lot for them to fall off. In fact, I don’t think I have had any fall off yet and I have had them for two years! It really is a wonderful tool and product. They were really thinking convenience when they made them. It was also easy to go through and install them in the book. It only took maybe 5 or 10 minutes to get them all stuck in there. There is clear instructions on how to organize them.

I love it makes it easy to find what your looking for and easy to remember these sections.

A couple years ago, I also bought Launching the Imagination: A Guide to Two-dimensional Design (by the same author), for a design class. I found the book informative as well as visually interesting, and A Comprehensive Guide to Basic Design is no different. It includes the same content found in A Guide to 2-D Design, but covers 3-D and 4-D design too (hence, comprehensive). The supplemental art pieces they used in the book were both diverse and intriguing. It helped me think more about basic concepts and how to use them in my art and designs.

I rented this book for a sculpture class. I've read many design books, and this one is very high quality. I understand why my professor chose it. Very thorough, lots of photos and illustrations, but what I liked most was the very detailed explanation of this author's rules of design. Excellent. My prof is excellent, too, with a great reputation all over the U.S. for his unusual sculptures, and he knows what he's talking about. I rented this book from Amazon; the first textbook I've ever rented. It worked out very well.

This book is great! I am very happy with this book. One of the best parts of this book is that it is part two and three of a larger book ONLY. It is a bit confusing because it starts on chapter 5, so that if you only want to focus on the 3D elements you can. There is a 2D version as well, or you can get the whole book together. But the split also helps to reduce to price of the book a bit. However, I love that I can just focus on the 3D elements.

...which was horribly dry and frequently came across as condescending. This, on the other hand, is a good design book that explains the concepts well with a good voice, neither stuck-up nor stupefied. Concepts that most people are probably already familiar with don't seem to drone on, but they are defined well enough for anyone who needs a reminder or isn't familiar with them to understand. I see why my instructor chose this book, and plan on reading the entire book, not just the assigned portions, because the artist interviews look interesting.

I bought this for a basic design class in college as a beginner with no art experience or knowledge. The explanations, descriptions, and examples in this book do a fantastic job of conveying information without assuming prior knowledge about art. I still consider myself a beginning art student after just a one-semester design course, so I don't know just how advanced this book is, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to learn the fundamentals of design.

This, coupled with my 2-D college course, were an excellent pairing. I find the book very helpful with an ample amount of artistic plates to reference. Easy to read and worthy of keeping post course (it will be in my art book library for as long as it will stay in one piece).4 star rating due to I would have liked even more picture examples of the elements and principles of design. It can get costly to put those color pictures in a book, but still more would have been great reference. Despite that, do not think this book is lacking in content.

The book itself is fine.I ordered it for my arts class. The only issue is that the pictures and images on this ebook are terrible. Most of them are blurred. It is very dificult to see the details on the images. I was expecting quality pictures that matched the printed version. I'm dissapointed at this ebook.

No reviews when I ordered this. Just received it and did 3 images. Going to send it back. Now, there is one review now. As I expected, bad news. Stickers are not cut exact. Big gaps. Don't they know better by now? I don't like to send things back. It could be great fun, but it's not made correctly.

I haven't completed the book yet because I have many stickering books to choose from depending on my mood. The first picture had 4-5 stickers that were a little smaller than the shape, but as I moved on to the next few pictures, they were fine. This is the jigsaw puzzle type (meaning there are no numbers and you have to go by the image and place the stickers accordingly); however, it's not as difficult as the other extreme sticker books (which I also love). Very enjoyable, the pictures are cute, and would recommend. -- I have another in my cart for when I finish this one :)

While I was initially happy, I got to the owl picture and it is wayyyyy off scale...no fixing that one. For the money, you would think there would be some quality control involved...great idea, but that to me is an epic fail. Get is right please before you print any more.

Like the fact that there are no numbers or letters --the stickers are more like a puzzle but not impossibly difficult. I also liked the pictures of animals. I would like more sticker books like this one.

This is a brilliant read. Even if you saw the movie first, that's OK, this book will far exceed the quality of the movie. I appreciate Read's attempt to be as straightforward as possible. There is no reason for an author to try and add emotion or tension to this story, since it was all there in the first place. There are some disturbing moments in the book (as expected), but nothing graphic. I appreciate Read's respect toward the faith those people had in God. Another reviewer said very little was dedicated to the actual crash. That's true. And after finishing the book, I can see why. What happened afterward was far more important than the actual crash. Amazing story. They thought they would be rescued since people knew they were flying. But they were never found. So they decided to save themselves. Amazing story. One of the greatest achievements in human history.

I read Miracle in the Andes by Nando Parrado, one of the survivors before reading Alive. Nando was one of the two survivors that somehow hiked to safety and thus saved the rest. His book was written many years after the event. Alive was written within a few years of the crash by Piers Paul Read who interviewed many of the survivors. Both books are excellent. I slightly prefer Parrado's book. If you have never read the story, read one of these books. It is an incredible story.

Alive was a riveting read. The details of each survivor's experiences in the Andes, their lives before the crash, and after their rescue caused me to question my own abilities, ethics, social skills and leadership abilities. The organization and discipline these men exhibited under the worst possible conditions was mind blowing.

My God !!..This is such an outstanding book. I met Mr.Gustavo Zerbino in january, 2005 during a meeting he held in the company I used to work for. He talked about his experience on the mountain for about an hour and he covered many details related to how much they did to survive up there. Since that time, I became so interested in getting to know much more about this real story, therefore I decided to purchase this book. There are so many details in it that Mr Zerbino couldn't talk about due to time reasons, then, by reading Alive, I could picture what those guys suffered there on the mountain in a way as I was right there. Most of the chapters are really tough to read, but it is a way we can learn about the experience accurately. I really recommend it 100 % !!. I am looking forward to read the books written by Canessa and Nando Parrado very soon. Thank you.

This is one of the best books I've ever read. I saw a documentary on the event on the history channel and knew I had to read the book. I'm ashamed to say I waited so long because this is an great read. I finished the book within a few days because it was just so hard to put down. The story of these gentleman is truely amazing. You will have a different outlook on life after reading it.

what a heartbreaking story but I just couldn't stop until had to sleep. The horror of it all and what they had to do to survive, bad luck just seem to be with them. They would survive one thing only to go on and almost not survive another tragedy. Ended up so enthralled with this story, I watched it on Netflix the next day. The book bought the visual more than the movie but both were very good.Cherie'

I have read this book more than a few times. My paperback is quite worn so I decided to get it on my kindle. Much easier to read on tablet rather than a book. My husband still loves the feel of a book in his hands but I would rather have it on my kindle. A very inspiring story of faith and resilience. I! Still amazed at how they survived such obstacles. It will always be one of my favourites

I know most people have seen the movie and think they know enough, but this book has always been important to me, understanding just how people function in such a horrible situation. Problem is, I kept lending my copy to friends, enthusiastically, and not getting it back. Then it was out of print. Finally I found it here!It came ahead of schedule by a couple of weeks and is even better condition than what was advertised. I won't loan THIS copy to anyone. I recommend the seller (and the book!)

My six-year-old (or 6.5, to be as precise as he likes to be), Dad, and Mom all LOVED this book! It was exciting for him to read about these things. He thought it was all very cool. But also - he's always been a bit scared of rides, in general, and it seemed to make him feel better/braver when he was able to get some understanding of why amusement park rides are scientifically 'safe'. As far as the level of the scientific explanations, he followed most of the explanations just fine, but Dad and Mom were around while he was reading out loud to enhance the explanations and make them easier to understand, as needed. We invented to real-life 'tests' for what was being explained, so it became pretty interactive. I bought several books from this series and we can't wait to read all of them!

I absolutely LOVE the Scince of Fun Stuff books! They really make learning fun. This is a gift for my nephew for Christmas, and he is going to love it! I was so happy to see that they have one on amusement parks. My nephew is a bit obsessed with amusement parks right now. I highly recommend any of the Fun Stuff books.

A good read for kids, but the age range of 6-8 seems a bit low. The words were not too difficult to pronounce, but the scientific explanations seemed to go over the head of my 7 year old.

My grandson loves it. He is 8 years old and likes roller coasters.

My son really enjoy this product. I was hoping for more content but it is good for the price and length.

Pretty easy to read, but the content is not dumbed down - covers basic principles of physics including Newton's laws.

Very cute. Just enough information to kick off a study unit. 😊
