This is one of those weaving books that you actually want to read and not just look for projects in. I have only read most of the twill section and I have already made this purchase worth it. Stuff you really maybe just gleaned from where you learned to weave but now it is fully explained. I have learned more from this book already than 4 years weaving and I went to a University for weaving..really. I am so happy I got this book.

I gave this 5 stars because the book is great - even though I don't understand much of what is says. It's a beautifully written book - great pictures - the whole shebang. I read the reviews. Some said it wasn't for beginners. Others said it was for beginners. Take it from me, this book IS NOT FOR BEGINNERS. If you have a background in weaving, buy the book. If you're wanting to learn how to weave, this is not for you.

Just got this book,so haven't woven anything relevant from it yet-- I'm involved with another project right now--- but the instructions seem very clear and much more detailed info than is usually given in weaving projects. Diagrams are very easy to read, pictures are clear and show what the weave really is supposed to look like. I look forward to sampling soon!

This is exactly the book I needed. I have been an intermediate weaver for a very long time. This book gives me the information I need to go more deeply into the structure of weaving so that I can strike out on my own instead of just following drafts. It is well laid out and each section builds on the last one, and is presented in easily followed but not dumbed down steps. The section on twills was the information I had tried to find in other books, some written by well know teaching weavers, but the information presented had left too many questions for me. Now they are answered. It fills a niche between beginning weaving books, a well populated category and books about more advanced techniques. Very accessible. Thank you Pattie.

I have been weaving about 4 years. I found this book to be a good review that included many tips I had missed. This will be a go to refresher for various techniques when I need to brush up. Contains some nice projects as well.

Loved this book. I am now moving to the next level with my weaving. I really love the flow of the book, skill building as you go and, I especially like the fact that she kept the 4 harness loom front and center throughout all the patterns.

I like this book, so glad it's in my weaving library. Have been weaving over 20 years and I learn new things as I experiment. The book provides many opportunities with clear diagrams and written instructions. Photos are beautiful. The author encourages readers to use her projects as a starting point in designing their own and offers a few suggestions to do so.

This whole saga is written really well, but I have to admit that it's dragging out a little too long. It just seems like there's no happiness and the story starts sucking the life out of you. The bad stuff is never ending and I just want it to end with some kind of happiness for Zam. I felt that way with The Elemental series by Ms. Mayer. I don't mind a good, long story line, but I like an end in sight. I also like the heroes not to be miserable 90% of the time. Again, excellent story line. Well written. I'm just ready for it to end now.

This was not my favorite book by her. Honestly I wanted to give this book a 2, but I just couldn’t rate anything this author does that low. I have really enjoyed the first 3 books of her plus all her other books, however honestly I felt like this book jumped around too much and if I can say it, there was too much action to follow it all, lol. I do think Zam learned more about herself and became a better leader but I just had a hard time with this book. I will certainly read the next one to see what happens with this crazy team.

You'd think that now that Zam is Alpha of her own pack life might be a little easier. You'd think wrong. Maks is now the head of the Jinn and no longer the same man she loves. This book follows our heroine as she head's for the Oracle's Haunt, she's trying to find out how to bring her brother back, but she also wants to know if she can save Maks and restore him. What would possibly go wrong? This story is one wild adventure and things tend to look bad for our favorite Alpha. Will she ever get Maks back? Will she let her heart settle for Ford? Will the curses on Lila and Zam ever be broken? All of those questions will NOT be answered in this book, but I'm hopeful we'll find out in the future books.If you've not started this series, go find the first book, you really don't want to miss out.

For most of Shannon Mayer's books I have started a review as soon as I have finished the book. They are always raves, as she is such a talented author. I had to savor this book a while. Zam and company have maneuvered their way to number one in my heart and this book is one of the reasons. Yes, it is an emotional rollercoaster, as usual in one of Shannon's books, but this one is an example of family. What is a family, who makes up a family, why does family have such a strong hold on us? Should family have that strong a hold and what do we do about it? What would we do for family or who we perceive as family? Poor Zamira can't catch a break in much but she has some very strong, powerful "family" bonds. A scene with Zam and Lila almost brought me to tears. Love underlines this book completely. I know it will continue in future and the next book can't come soon enough.

Zam and Lila are once more in the thick of things, and the story is a non-stop whirlwind. Each of these books is better than the last, and this one is the best so far.It’s so hard not to say things that would be a spoiler, and I don’t like them. But…we have witches, grocs, and Steve. What more do I need to say? Do yourself a favor and read this series and enjoy the wonderful world of Shannon Mayer.

I love any Shannon Mayer's book. I've read them all. Zam and Lila are two of my favorite characters. They are sisters of the heart. I love this relationship. They face death daily, but they face it together. Zam has an impossible job. She has to figure out what is the best moral outcome for the world. Then she has to figure out how to save it. In the mean time she is trying to save her newly founded pride and trying to release her heart from Maks who has been "possessed" by a long line of Djinn. Merlin, yes that Merlin, has not yet proven himself to Zam. Is he betraying her or guiding her?

Our heroine Zamira is bereft without Maks, who has been subsumed by the Jinn king, but she can’t stop to mourn. She has to keep moving, lead her pride, unravel the mysterious legacy left by her mother, and defeat the Emperor. It’s all up to her, but she has her friends and allies to aid her in her quest: older friends,including a tiny dragon and a well-trained horse, and newer ones, including a witch and a black lion who loves her and follows her without question. Lots of obstacles stand in her way, but her strength and leadership, her foul mouth and Shakespearean quotations, will see her through. This installment of the Desert Cursed series will please its intrepid fans, who are eagerly awaiting the next novel from Shannon’s wonderful mind!

My three-and-a-half year old son LOVES Thomas and Friends and we like to read a couple stories before bedtime every night. We love the Little Golden Books because they are the perfect length and we can typically read at least two of them before bed, if not more. My son didn't have this book and he also enjoys watching Dinosaur Train so I figured this story would be a good one to add to our collection.Thomas and the Dinosaur is the story of Percy coming into the shed claiming there is a monster in the forest. Thomas doesn't know what a monster is and he's scared to go into the forest but he has jobs to do. As he is on his way to work, he encounters the monster, which is actually just a model of a dinosaur that is being used for Sodor's new dinosaur park. After Thomas learns what dinosaurs are, he is pretty proud to help pull the dinosaur to the park.Like all LGB, this book measures 6 1/2 inches by 8 inches, has hard covers, paperback pages, and a gold spine. This story is 24 pages long, has colorful illustrations and at least a couple sentences on each page, or set of pages. It fits in perfectly with the rest of our LGB collection and is a good story for us to read. It takes us about five minutes to read, or 10 if we talk about the story. I love the length of these stories because then we can read a couple before bedtime.Overall, we like this book and read it occasionally but we have so many LGB that we don't read it too often. I love how the Thomas and Friends books teach lessons in many of their stories and this one teaches kids that being helpful is something to be proud of. The product description states that boys will enjoy the book but I don't see why girls can't read it because my three-and-a-half year old daughter (I have twins) likes to listen to the story as well. This story is nice for toddlers and will be good to have as my kids get older and learn to read. If you have a Thomas fan who also likes dinosaurs, this is a good book to buy. There isn't a lot to this story but my kids still enjoy it and it teaches a lesson, so it was worth it for us to purchase it.

My 2.5 year old is now terrified of dinosaurs after the first half of the book is Percy whomping up scary feelings discussing dinosaurs. My daughter now asks every night at bedtime, "Are there going to be animals? ... Are they going to eat me?" I suppose we should have waited longer to read the book to her, but the fear Percy felt could certainly have been written more tactfully for the young audience.

Got this for my 3 year old grand son whose favorite playthings at this age are...yes, you guessed it...trains and dinosaurs. What could be better than one book with both of them in it? It is educational with a positive message and he has me read it to him every time I come over. This makes for one happy grandpa.

I haven't read this book, bought it for my nephew. However. It arrived in very bad condition. A new book was ordered and it arrived looking like it had gone through some very hard times. The spine was cracked and you can see the pages through the spine because there are holes! The book is all scuffed up. Hopefully the story itself makes a hit with the recipient because as it stands I am not happy. The only reason it's getting 2 stars right now is benefit of the doubt on the supposition my nephew will like it as a Thomas fan. Otherwise it would get 1 star.

Very cute book! My son loves Thomas and dinosaurs and this is the perfect combo! wW bought this to add to his book shelf but it rarely gets put down. The story is simple, Thomas hears there is a "monster" in the woods and finds out it's a dino statue he needs to transport to a new dinosaur amusement park. He overcomes his fear of the "monster" and gets the statue to the park successfully. Cute story about over coming your fears!

Thomas the train & dinosaurs... perfect combo for a toddler! Good thing they don't care about writing skills or story lines though because it's not very well written & I'm not a fan of the fact that it involves only one fake dinosaur. But it's not about me & what I like, it's about the little boy I bought it for & he absolutely loves it! Even his little sister likes to roar along while we're reading it.

Really cute storyline and if you have a kid that likes both dinosaurs and trains, well then, this is a winner! Little Golden Book has not lost their touch, I just love being able to hare my love of reading with my kid. Note, these have paper pages and are not suited for toddlers alone. They are best if you read to the toddler, they can be easily torn apart.

My nephew's two favorite things right now, in the same book: Thomas and dinosaurs! My nephew is going through a train, specifically Thomas, and dinosaurs phase. I was surprised to see this book this book exists and had to get it for him. He's not reading yet, but likes to look at the pictures. This was a great buy and a good way to get him into books and reading.

The core book for Deadlands Noir isn't sparse, but it IS laser-focused on New Orleans, 1935. This book adds four new cities -- Chicago circa 1927, "Shan Fran" (Deadlands' San Fransisco) circa 1939, Lost Angels (Deadlands' Los Angeles) circa1946, and City of Gloom (Deadlands' Salt Lake City) circa 1950 -- each with their own map, setting details, Savage Tales, Plot Point campaign, and unique monsters and NPCs all laid out for you.For players, there are also two new Arcane Backgrounds (for blessed and sykers) as well as an Edge that greatly expands on the options available to martial artists. To be fair, however, blessed and sykers are scaled down versions of their previous selves from other versions of Deadlands (which is necessary for that Noir feel) that have absolutely no unique Edges to round them out with the Arcane Backgrounds in the core book (which is merely to save space and get both backgrounds to fit on one page). Also, the Kung Fu Edge for martial artists is reprinted straight out of Deadlands: Hell on Earth. These aren't bad customization options by any means, however don't expect much in the way of new material for players.This book is for GMs, through and through. Even if you plan on running your Noir game in New Orleans, there are plenty of monsters, NPCs, and even Savage Tales you can swap from this book. There's tons and TONS of material in here to mine, that's for sure, and plus you get a lot more background on the era. Who were the U.S. and Confederate presidents going into the new century? How did the realities of Deadlands affect the rise of organized crime in the wake of Prohibition? What is in the world has Darius Hellstrome been up to since he revealed that his brain survived inside of a robot body in 1917 (something only briefly touched upon in Deadlands: Hell on Earth)? All of these general setting questions are answered and presented along with a map of the U.S. and C.S. territories.Overall, if you plan on getting Deadlands Noir, pick this up as well. You won't regret it.

Great setting.

A really excellent source book for Savage game systems, specifically Deadlands. It is a companion book to the Noir edition, and helps round out the game world. If you are looking to progress your game out of the old wets and into the great depression, this book will really help.

I have over the years collected every deadlands book published, even the collector leather bound ones. However everything in this book is garbage, barely any of the soul of deadlands is left at this point. Honestly if you want the theme of it just push people into the 20's and change some of the weapon stats, all this feels like is a cheap cash in on the lovecraft style of games. That can be done without the need of this book and without removing the bulk of deadlands flavor from it.

Judith N. Martin is currently Herberger Professor of Communication in the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication at Arizona State University. This textbook is a piece of junk.I am nine chapters into it for my Intercultural Communications class, and I can honestly say it is the worst textbook ever foisted upon me.The worst offenses are actually in the bank of test questions provided to instructors. About 5-10% of questions on every test are very problematic in their wording and logic, and some of them refer to topics not actually covered in the text. I have presented these problems to my instructor, and she is in full agreement that many of the test questions are terrible. If you are an instructor considering this textbook, you should definitely write your own test questions.The text itself is also poorly written and edited. The most glaring problems are in the logic and organization of the ideas and arguments. Often, one paragraph does not follow logically from the previous. The authors frequently veer off topic and do not stick to their argument's organizational structure established at the beginning of each section. They violate basic principles of clear writing that I learned in English 100.If I had the time, I would go on about how the authors frequently present debatable observations and perspectives as simple facts, missing the opportunity to engage readers in interesting issues with multiple viewpoints, that there is an unacceptable rate of grammatical errors, that it is redundant and boring, but I have already wasted enough of my life dealing with the atrocity that is "Experiencing Intercultural Communication".

I gave the book 3 stars because I have not fully read it yet, however, this review is for the rental on Kindle. This book was the only book that I have ever had on here that has consistently given me trouble. It will not open half the time and when it does it will take 30mins to do so while any other book rented or not will instantly load up. So far I have uninstalled kindle twice and reloaded it and have cancelled to book by deleting it and rented it again to see if it will load properly.

The books has a lot of contradictions and doesn't give a lot of information when it's needed. Not the best text book a class has used.

I liked that it had many vocabulary terms, but I did not like the fact that different terms were used compared to the ones in the book in my class.
