Gorgeous prose and fresh imagery!

Can only read so many of these at a sitting; they're that powerful. And in such simple, allegorical language.

I cried through much of this collection of poems. So beautiful yet painful. If this doesn't bring up a flood of emotions, check your pulse.

A gathering of poems that I will think about for a long time. Gay Black Southern Poetry. This book spoke intensely.

until i read it and discovered it's the kind of book that will always stay with me

Such an amazing collection of poems. I had to read it for my Arts in NY class, but do not regret it one bit. We also got to meet the author and he was such an amazing guy, full of honesty and inspiration. Definitely recommend this!

some of the poems are gems, special moments captured in searing language. Rough, beautiful, with the aura of truth about them.

Gorgeous, original work.

Nick Webb has a knack for crafting intelligent, enjoyable work. Character development, believability, and wide scope of all situations, make his Legacy Fleet Series a wonderful read. Characters talk like we'd talk, only far in the future. It's the human side of things, that Webb doesn't let lost in the intricacies we'd find in a future we dream of.Perfect? What is, outside of God? Webb is a story teller, and a damned fine one. Those that throw stones, should match him first, then speak from a position of parity...Five out of Five Stars, and they're earned...

I am amazed, I just complete this book in a non stop book after book after getting hooked on book 1 of the series. Yeah, I have read nothing but Legacy Fleet books for Days and I have enjoyed each and every one of them and now I have to suffer withdrawals until Book 7 comes out. I did not want a book 7, there are so many other stories out there in the eBook World begging for my attention, but even if I start reading them I will have to come back here as soon as Book 7 is released. And to make matters even worse is the Author has told me that there are spin offs that he and others have written, so it looks like I should be able to get a fix or two while awaiting Book 7.I am really not complaining as I actually love long series like this and hope it runs on to 20 or 30 books and I will read them all... Get to work Mr. Nick Webb my addiction needs feeding....

Storyline on this one meandered around and really seemed to lose focus. Also, what's up with the insane amount of typos and grammatical errors? Several per page at times, and I'm not talking about little things. Subject/predicate agreement, tense shifts, proper homonym usage (there/they're/their and the like). Completely pulled me out of the story too often.

I’ve read all 6 books in this series and “Liberty” is my favorite so far. Granger’s return to the flesh was unexpected, as was his plan to unite the four species. His loss of memory in the process was a realistic and humanizing touch. Proctor’s full rise to Granger’s heroic stature should satisfy any feeling that she was being shortchanged as a heroine. Balsey’s sacrificial demise was classic and frees Batshit to stop living his life in counterpoint to his father. All that and all the elements necessary to set up Book 7 - can’t wait.

Won't go into plot, it's already discussed. It's the wildest collection of plots and subplots, Both Humanity and it's enemies are about to be squashed by an unthinkably powerful foe, and Earth's foe(s) keep changing and their friends are also their potential threats. It's a wild story that keeps getting wider all the time, and the ending may not be'''the ending. Does this make sense? I may reread it in a couple of months to see what I missed of the details.

Another great book, "Liberty", in the Legacy Fleet series! This is one of my all time favorite hard sci-fi series. The kind you never want to end! Thank you Nick Webb for creating this thrilling, action packed ride for us to live vicariously through your rich imagination. Given the great action, sometimes the story line and character development suffer, with other authors, but, you sir, have delivered in spades. You are producing a great Legacy of your own. Thank you. Keep up the great work.Wayne Hoyt

Still a very captivating book, but the story has taken such a mythical twist I found it read more like a religious novel then a scifi. I hope the next one will put all these time travel polt behind and take us back to those hard earn, win by sheer will and determination story I came to love of the series.

Great for more mature readers. The plot is spell-binding. I could not wait to turn the next page. Definitely not a book to read before bed time. Your pulse will be pounding too hard to sleep. Just when you think the stress is building beyond belief, Nick Webb injects a bit of humor into the scene. I felt that he has also done an excellent job in giving his characters reality. I was actually glad to see Tim Granger return again, almost like an old friend. I anxiously await book 7.

This should be required reading in schools. The negative reviews typically involve devout Christians and other faiths who fear the worship of false idols. This is not a religion, it is a philosophy, about how to treat others, about how to treat yourself, about how to live your life recognizing the causes or suffering, and minimizing or elimininating it for yourself and others. It is about compassion, self-control, and happiness, something we all can and should try to increase in ourselves and others while on this planet. Nothing in here contradicts the teachings of Christ, just the opposite. It can help us understand the Golden Rule and other teachings. Buddhism can be your Cliff Notes for a better understanding of the New Testament. Everyone I have gotten this book for has told me it was as if a blindfold was lifted from their eyes, allowing them to become better people and help others do the same.

I wanted to like this book - I really did - but the author makes too many global assumptions about his readers. Here is an example: "You hit puberty, ready to become that perfect, long, lean, hardbody you see in ads. For about 98% of people, that doesn't happen. You may not have cared much about this when you were younger, but you *really care now*.And another example: "Boys want to be tall and buff. Girls want to be curvaceous and toned." Really?Regrettably, this book misses the mark. With the help of a disciplined editor who can prune the author's tendency to assert absolutes this book can be salvaged, but I cannot recommend it in its current form.

as one part of our vacation, we were fortunate to visit a center in which buddhism is practiced. since my kids had had no exposure to buddhistic beliefs before, i thought that buying and reading this book and then discussing parts of it during the drive, hotel stays, tourist walking, might be neat. the kids were not teens, so, i adapted it a bit. the kids really seemed to appreciate the respect and logical approach. they were attentive at the center. after the center, we went to a restaurant in which they had a few "gambling machines" for kids. i replied to my son's request that if he really insisted on gambling $1, he could, but, if he lost, he had to give me his other $1. he ran out and lost. he gave me his last $1. my daughter came over to me and said that i will attract bad kharma by doing that. then, she gave him her last $1. of course, that night i gave him $1 and he returned $1 to her. so, i guess that she did learn and begin to practice some basic elements of buddhism.that's a long story just to tell you that my kids benefited from this book. i enjoyed reading through it and i enjoyed sharing it with the kids.the book is organized well. it is very informative. it is simple enough for teens to understand. it is fun and engaging! it is well written and edited. I highly recommend this book for younger teens with an interest in buddhism or whose parents / friends might be interested in buddhism. if a parent wants to use this book as a basis for teaching younger children, it can be adapted. adults wishing to read this in order to familiarize themselves with basic tenants might find this book to be light reading. that might be good for many of us!overall, i think that this is an excellent book, and i give i an "A-".

I initially purchased this book for my grandchildren, who are now teenagers. Although only ONE of the THREE has read parts of it, the sections they read did spark informative conversations....and what more could one ask for? I read the book often and truly appreciate its offerings...in easy to read, very informative and engaging ways. I think its appropriate for all ages....and when they are ready...the teens (or perhaps young adults...or even older) will return because I'm keeping it with me! I've also shared it with many of my college students in writing courses and they gobble it up...I highly recommend it!

This book was life changing. I've grown up in a Christian family, and it never worked for me. This book showed me not only a religion I could really feel connected to, but a way of life anyone can follow. I read this whole book in the last 3 hours and I feel...different. It's not like I magically changed over 3 hours, it's like I feel ready to take that step into faith I could never find. All this is thanks to this book. The author of this book deserves way more than a review. He deserves to know how much of an impact he has made to me, and other people who have read this book. Buy this book. It'll change you. For the better.

I give this book four stars. It is a perfect spiritual guide for teens and upwards. It explains Buddhism in a simplistic way as it should, I like many switch off when the subject is taken to the extreme. This is an insightful guide for all those on this journey called life.Best of all it let's everyone know aiming for perfection is impossible and will only cause suffering, detaching from such ideas brings us closer to peace.Oh the joy of that notion! So squeeze Buddha in between your lunch box and laptop and follow the Eightfold path!

Excellent book for young adults struggling through teenage years. Sage wisdom and sound advice for many things! While the book does discuss Buddhism, its history and practice, the advice and perspective is instantly usable for any spirituality or religion. I loved this book!

i think my kids are a little young for this book. It starts out assuming that your kid is rebelling and that there is issues with family matters. I didn't like that part, but it is easy to read for younger people.

While I agree with the one bad review that this isn't really a book for beginners, I think it's a great tool for those who aren't proficient. Some knowledge of Spanish is necessary to benefit from the book, and this could match well with duolingo's Spanish program. So if you are a beginner, I would suggest spending some time with the free duolingo app and then supplementing with this book. I think it's a great tool, and I haven't seen anything like this book, so thanks for creating it!!

Since receiving this book 4 days ago, I have worked through the first two chapters. The stories were interesting and held my attention.I enjoy the book's structure. Each story is followed by a glossary, summaries in English and Spanish, and several comprehension questions. The full stories are not available in English.Unfortunately, the book is not written for beginners. I am an intermediate reader and speaker and had to keep my Spanish dictionary app open at all times to frequently look up words that were not contained in the glossary. Another thing to note is that it seems as though the book is written in the Castilian dialect which was, at times, challenging. And, finally, the authors of the book are anonymous. Nowhere does it provide information about them, their backgrounds, or experiences in teaching Spanish.

I love these short stories in Spanish. This one has a great vocabulary list and a story summary after each story. Also a little quiz to help you know what you have understood. These stories are the best way for me to build my vocabulary. And if you need, you can copy from your ebook and paste to iTranslate to get a translation of anything you’re having trouble with. Makes learning Spanish fun.

I love this book!! But, I do not think this is a book for absolute beginners. I have been studying Spanish for a long time with long breaks in between. My biggest problem was that I never had a good book to read to help me deepen my studies. That’s how I learned English by reading books. Finally I found a great book in Spanish. Love the summary in both languages and the vocabulary section. To make it even better I just saw the audible version on this book. Really a great tool to learn this beautiful language.

This is a good book. I'm not sure how to rate it, since I judge the title to be misleading. It is not suitable for beginners, unless you define beginner as that rare, super-motivated individual who plunges right in. The opening story has an extremely high reading level and many different tenses mixed together. When I think beginner I think of a children's book with one or two lines of text and many large and engaging illustrations. Would you start a beginning student in any language with a ninth grade level text? No, I say.

This is a great book for beginners, I have read it several times now. I purchased the audiobook and then received a PDF version of the book ( you get the PDF when you purchase the audiobook). This is a fantastic way to hear the correct pronunciation and get an idea of the rhythm of the language as well. If you get a chance check out Storyling- language immersion website. ( From Lingo Mastery) Oscar is in the process of rolling out this great language learning platform. I think it is going to be a wonderful tool for language learners.Best Wishes on your journey!Brent L.

This product is awesome for those that are just getting into learning the Spanish language, or for those like me who have taken courses in the past, but have rusted skills due to lack of use. Sometimes the hardest thing about learning a language is that you learn it from afar and do not have access to people that you can sharpen your skills with. This book provides a bridge to working to keep those skills fresh through reading stories that not only allows you keep engaged with learning outside of a textbook but also poses questions to help increase your comprehension. Thanks Lingo Mastery!

I really love these Spanish short stories, and it's been a great way for me to practice my Spanish. It's nice that they have a glossary of words at the end of each story. The only thing that would make it better, is complete English translation of each story. They have an English translation of the story recap... but I've had to use Google translate of some of the sentences that I couldn't quite parse out on my own.You do need to know some Spanish to use this, or a dictionary & a translation app.. It's a step or two above where I am in my Spanish skill, but it's pushing me to become better for sure!
